Notes from the shop
College societies plan their tees the way they plan everything else, which is late and by committee. Around Kamla Nagar the orders are fest volunteers, department batches, hostel teams and farewell shirts, usually one design in mixed sizes with a list of names on the back. Sizes are the part worth settling first.
Names on the back change the method
A single design across forty shirts is screen printing work. The moment every shirt carries a different name, nickname or roll number, vinyl becomes the better answer, because each shirt is cut and pressed on its own rather than needing a fresh screen. Both can sit on the same order, with the front screen printed and the back personalised.
Budgets are fixed and split between people, so it helps to know early what the fabric choice does to the cost. Cotton feels better and prints cleanly, polyester blends survive more washes. Shirts reach a Delhi address the next day once the design is approved, which still leaves the collection problem to whoever is organising.
